HEMA - Train
A commercial made for Truus / HEMA, together with amazing creative director / animator Juan Behrens https://www.juanbehrens.com/ and sound designer Lars van Leeuwen https://elephant-ears.nl/ who are always a joy to work with.
My responsibilities were the modelling, rigging, animation and simulation.
A life-sized toy train from HEMA caught in the wild? Nah the whole thing is CG.

Our initial plan had the train blocks dancing and rumbling around as the train passed.
The final animation had only 2 keyframes, so here's something fun to show off what the rig can do! 🚂
We did film on location, but went with a matte painting projected onto geo in the end.
It sacrificed some realism but gave us much more flexibility with the camera and timing of the animation.
The car model was made by 1DInc on Blendswap.
And lastly an Embergen sim we cut in this version.
